On-Purpose

Fellow Spotlight: Jack Scriven

Jack Scriven Fellow Spotlight
We're constantly inspired by the remarkable ways the On Purpose community creates impact and brings about transformative change. This month we're excited to shine a light on Jack Scriven from our 2011 Associate Programme cohort!

I treasure my experience gained in the On Purpose Associate Programme back in 2011, a time filled with learning and building lasting friendships. Post-programme, I spent several years working in various commercial, finance, and strategy roles with both my placement hosts, HCT Group and JustGiving, helping them to grow.

Since then, I’ve continued my work with social enterprises and purpose-driven organisations. I've helped scale an e-commerce business that uses profits from selling sustainable building materials to support reforestation and co-founded a fitness challenge fundraising platform during the pandemic.

Recently, my focus has been supporting the strategy, setup, and scaling of organisations and projects using design thinking and lean start-up approaches. I’ve worked to develop new products and services with organisations like the Big Give, Hubbub, Thrift+ and Toast Ale.

I’ve also been collaborating with AchieveGood, where I’ve led the co-design and development of a social impact fund in Cambridge to tackle inequality and am also exploring strategies to develop natural capital markets in Scotland. As a board advisor for WYK Digital, I help young people from diverse backgrounds access digital careers

If you're looking for support with a project with a social or environmental purpose, I’d love to collaborate. You can reach me at VirtuCircle.org.
