Peter Upton

Peter combines a deep understanding and practical knowledge of business with an ability to bring out the best in individuals and organisations. He has worked for some of the world’s biggest corporations, transforming businesses from the inside by encouraging engagement, collaboration, communication and creativity. For over 25 years Peter has worked with as a mentor, coach and consultant across a range of sectors, including financial services, professional services, TMT, energy and charity. He has coached and advised a broad range of people from senior executives, high potential managers to unemployed young people trying to find their feet. He excels at motivating teams and individuals to achieve tough targets in rapidly changing markets, to meet systemic change head on. His approach is business-like, drawing on the depth of his knowledge of how 21st century enterprises operate; and, at the same time, person-focused utilising his long experience of working with teams and individuals to achieve their goals. His style is described as engaging, empathetic and enlightening. Peter has a BSc (Engineering and Social Sciences, Newcastle University), holds a Professional Certificate in Coaching from Henley Business School. He is also currently studying for an MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change at Henley Business School. In compliance with industry practice, and as part of his own continuing professional development, Peter receives regular supervision affording clients an additional level of quality assurance. He also holds full professional indemnity insurance and subscribes to a strict code of ethics (in compliance with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council’s Code of Ethics).
