Sarah Dobson

Sarah joined On Purpose from African Prisons Project, an international charity working in the fields of health, education and justice. Working as Trust Fundraising Manager she developed multi-year bids and budgets for international Foundations, travelling to Kenya and Uganda to spend time in prisons, and working with Country Directors to define new areas of work. Prior to that, Sarah spent four years at The Personal Support Unit, a leading UK legal support charity. As Head of Trusts Fundraising, she secured over £700,000 in new funding, as well as the Guardian's Charity of the Year Award, 2014. In addition to raising funds, Sarah project managed the implementation of a new CRM database, led a cross-departmental nationwide team to improve income handling and financial monitoring, and secured, scripted and managed a charity appeal on BBC Radio4 by the former Lord Chief Justice, Igor Judge. Before joining the third sector, Sarah trained as a barrister, completing her Bar Professional Training Course with City Law School in 2011. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Law from City University, London, a BA in English from the University of Leicester and is a qualified Mediator and Youth Advocate. Outside of work, Sarah is Chair of KDC, a non-profit London based drama company.
