Kate Chhatwal
Dr Kate Chhatwal joined Challenge Partners as Chief Executive in February 2018. Challenge Partners is an education charity working with over 500 schools across England to improve pupils' outcomes and reduce educational inequality through effective collaboration. Kate is passionate about education and social justice. Her belief in the ability of children and adults to develop themselves and others, and to transform the world around them, is at the heart of all she does. She holds a PhD in education policy and has over 15 years experience of leading policies and programmes to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged children. She was Executive Director at Southwark Teaching School Alliance, and Chief Programme Officer at The Future Leaders Trust. Kate also spent 11 years at the Department for Education, where she led the Labour government's flagship National Challenge programme. Kate is Trustee and Chair of the Education Committee at STEP Academy Trust; Trustee at The Charter Schools Educational Trust; and Co-Founder of the Leading Women's Alliance.
