Worker's Educational Association
Founded in 1903, the Workers’ Educational Association is a
democratic organisation providing lifelong learning opportunities to
adults. The WEA takes education to
where it is needed most – in local communities, particularly where
educational disadvantage is prevalent.
Many of our courses are run in partnership with local community groups,
charities and other organisations, often for members, users or clients of
those organisations.
All our educational provision is developed with this in mind. Our courses are organised around four
themes – employability, health & wellbeing, community engagement and
cultural studies. In all cases, social
purpose is a core component.
The organisation is undertaking an organisation-wide business
transformation programme which will enable it to become “An effective,
efficient and sustainable organisation delivering excellent adult education
into the future.”
The OnP Associate will assist with the successful running of the Programme
in a Programme Management Office or Project Support capacity and also get
exposure to a variety of business issues that are being addressed by projects
within the programme, including those associated with HR & People
Management, Management Information, Digital Strategy, Business Planning,
Finance, Property Strategy, amongst others.
