Care City

In this placement, the Associates will work on one of Care City’s flagship programmes, the Care City Test Bed. One of NHS England’s five health and care test beds, the programme aims to test a combination of innovations alongside new approaches to service delivery and patient participation, to assess whether we can measurably and sustainably improve the well-being and resilience of older people with long term conditions, people with dementia and carers. Care City was launched in January 2016, co-founded by North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Today it brings together health, social care, and third sector partners from across the system with researchers, education providers, technology experts, small and medium sized companies and social entrepreneurs to develop health and social care delivery and workforce models of the future. Our people are all passionate about creating real and sustainable improvements in our local public services and improving the quality of life for local residents, carers, services users and patients. During the placement there will be an opportunity to support the broader programmes of work, and to help create and shape the evolving organisation.
