Gulnaar Zafar
Gulnaar has over 15 years' experience working as a commercial disputes lawyer at first-tier English and U.S. global law firms in London. She has successfully managed multiple large-scale litigations, arbitrations and other dispute resolution processes (analysing, strategising and managing complex, high-value disputes from start to finish) for clients across several business sectors (including investment and finance, banking, technology, oil and gas, energy, defence, shipping and heavy industry). She has also acted as trial advocate in arbitration proceedings conducted under the auspices of leading international arbitral institutions.
Alongside work, Gulnaar has continued to volunteer in a variety of settings for the causes she cares most about. Most recently she has worked with the London Wildlife Trust, St. Joseph's Hospice in Hackney, and Prideaux House - a local community centre where she sits on the Board of Trustees.
Gulnaar is passionate about business as a force for social and environmental good, and was motivated to join the On Purpose associate program in order to permanently transition to a leadership role in the impact space. She has a keen interest in sustainability, health and wellbeing, and social fairness.
Outside of work, Gulnaar spends much of her spare time in nature or travelling to explore new places and different cultures. She also loves reading fiction, singing, gardening, art and design, and practising yoga.
Gulnaar read Law at Durham University, graduating with First-Class Honours, and is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales.
