Juan Cobos Hernández
A telecom engineer, Juan started his career working for a major integrated energy firm with its IT strategy group. However, his curiosity and interest in business roles with a global reach, and his commitment to take on the world's most pressing challenges, took him to India, where he worked with the Government of Spain in private sector development.
Afterwards, Juan spent the majority of the next decade based in India working for the local branch of two multinational firms in the origination, development and financing of large-scale sustainable energy and environmental infrastructure assets with a pan-Asian reach.
A committed and autonomous doer, connector and advisor, Juan aims to keep growing in his career with purpose-driven roles, having a special interest in helping organisations to unlock sustainable growth opportunities and drive systemic change, leveraging his skills and previous experiences. He believes complex problems demand creative and innovative solutions, and that collaborative approaches that require building networks, knowledge sharing and capital are essential to maximize impact.
A fellow of ICEX Spain Trade & Investment, and a Cranfield MBA, where he specialised in entrepreneurship and early-stage venture finance, Juan has been recently part of the PowerUp London Accelerator Programme as a mentor to a social entrepreneur.
In his free time, Juan enjoys sports, arts and culture, and exploring new geographies.
