“I’m interested in helping develop policies that shift the drivers of behaviour of individuals, organisations and governments, to ultimately reduce environmental degradation.”
Ellen Shepherd
Ellen started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, providing internal audit services to local government clients. She advised on business processes ranging from highways maintenance to the provision of children’s social care. Later she managed all technical support to PwC’s UK internal audit practice, including development of methodologies, policies and supporting tools, and design and delivery of training. More recently she spent a year as an on-the-ground conservation volunteer, from leading trail-building teams in Iceland, to helping replant the Caledonian forest. She followed this by completing an MSc in Conservation Science at Imperial College London. For her thesis she devised a practical system for assessing whether the benefits humans derive from our environment are being safeguarded globally. Ellen also has a MMath in Mathematics from Leeds University, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW.
