FareShare

FareShare believes that no good food should go to waste….it is as simple as that! We work with the food industry to divert their surpluses to charities that use their hard pressed budgets to buy food. In this way we squeeze as much social goodness as we can from this food by saving these charities money. In the last year we fed 311,000 people each week, supported 3,511 charity and community groups and saved them nearly £20 million. Yet this was with only 3% of the food that is in date, could feed people and is allowed to go to waste. We aim to grow 10 times. The first assignment is to map the capacities or each of our 20 regional centres resulting in clear business plans in place. We also have a model of connecting charities with supermarkets and the second placement is to look at how we this work.
