Jessica Harneyford

Jessica's first job was in neuropsychology, which inspired her to study for an MA in Philosophy of Cognitive Science at the University of Sussex. Seven years in the European technology scene followed, first at the specialist technology investment bank FirstCapital, and more recently at US firm Piper Jaffray. Throughout this time, Jessica worked with entrepreneurs and leaders of high growth Internet, software and healthcare companies, advising them on raising growth capital from investors and on M&A transactions. Before joining On Purpose, Jessica took a career break to focus on her growing preoccupation with ethical and social questions raised by developments in artificial intelligence, and completed a residency with interactive media artists Blast Theory. She also tutored maths to students from a wide range of backgrounds. She has a first class degree in Medical Sciences and Experimental Psychology from the University of Cambridge.
