Jo is a career and leadership coach who loves to work with high achievers, leaders, emerging leaders and managers who are struggling in some way or who are ‘at sea’. Clients are typically feeling scared, angry, sad, uncertain, frustrated or confused. Jo uses her inner calm, empathy and sensitivity to provide a ‘safe harbour’ in which clients explore themselves and are listened to without judgement. She partners with them in their exploration, sharing her own life and developmental stories as relevant, to enable them to gain greater insight into themselves, to heal and to let go of what’s getting in the way. At the same time, she objectively guides clients to experience themselves as more whole, more powerful and more authentic than before with greater access to their full range of qualities, gifts, strengths and emotions.
Jo’s coaching style is spontaneous, drawing on her vulnerability and calm, creativity and playfulness. Coaching sessions may feature movement, creative experiences or deep stillness. Clients describe her as warm, gentle, challenging and a bit quirky.
Jo is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW). Her career history includes over 20 years’ blue chip business experience in corporate tax. One of her most challenging and senior roles was as Head of UK Tax for BP’s refining and marketing businesses. Jo holds her ACC credential with the International Coach Federation. Her corporate coaching clients include a TV company, a global law firm, the ICAEW, a US FS firm and a FTSE 100 publisher.
Jo’s purpose is to help her clients free themselves up to become their whole, best selves to bring more of themselves to their work, their relationships and their lives. She is motivated by her belief that self-discovery leads to more connection and fulfilment which in turn benefits our workplaces and society.
