“The combination of placement-learning, training, mentoring and coaching has equipped me to move into this sector for the long-term and I feel privileged to be part of On Purpose's dynamic and talented community.”
Before joining On Purpose Kate worked in trade publishing, most recently at Penguin Books, managing media campaigns across three publishing lists and self-directing a specialism in books focusing on social issues. Recent projects include working with Professor Lord Richard Layard of the LSE on the subject of mental health, and on human rights with Shami Chakrabarti, Director of Liberty. Outside of work Kate has volunteered for Beyond Food Foundation, a social enterprise and charity inspiring people at risk of homelessness through training opportunities in the catering and hospitality industries, completing marketing and PR projects in support of the team. She took a career break in 2012 to travel around Asia, visiting nine countries over 6 months and trekking for 17 days to complete the Annapurna Circuit in the Himalayas, and last year completed her first triathlon. Kate holds a BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Sheffield.
