Nadia Schweimler

Nadia is a passionate policy professional, interested in developing private sector approaches which pursue an environmentally effective and equitable response to climate change. Before joining On Purpose, Nadia had spent the better part of the last year working for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change as a consultant to the Adaptation Program and loss and damage. In this role Nadia supported the Executive Committee for the Warsaw International Mechanism on loss and damage in operationalising its mandates. Further more, she was able to add value to the Committee by promoting their work through events, posters, and social media engagement. Prior to this, Nadia spent more than four years working in PwC's Sustainability and Climate Change practice. In this role, Nadia served predominantly government entity clients, including the UK's Department for International Development (DFID) on the Climate and Development Knowledge Network. In her role as CDKN project manager for negotiation support Nadia ran more than a dozen projects (worth several million pounds in donor funds), which focused on supporting negotiators to the UN from the small island states and least developed nations. Alongside her professional work, Nadia is very passionate about gender equality, as well as plastic waste management. Along with PwC colleagues, Nadia started the Women/Sustainability network which seeks to bring together men and women to discuss how to achieve gender balance in leadership. She holds a BSc in Biology, and an MSc in Environment Technology (Dist.) both from Imperial College London.
