SOLARKIOSK award-winning kiosk solution (called ‘E-HUBB’) is designed as an independent source of energy for the rural population of developing countries. Customers can charge their mobile phones, listen to the radio, cool-store their medication or buy solar lamps at the kiosk. Therefore, they no longer have to use harmful kerosene lamps or diesel generators to have light at night. After only five hours of sunshine, the kiosk can be operated for three days. SOLARKIOSK was founded in 2012 and since then has set up more than 200 kiosks in 3 countries in Africa and operates its retail business through these kiosks.
