On-Purpose

Caroline Lobsang

Caro joined On Purpose in the April 2021 cohort. Prior to this, she studied Biology at Bristol University before completing her legal conversion course and working as a solicitor for 8 years.

Caro has always been interested in causes with positive social and environmental impact. Being half-Tibetan, she has a deep-rooted commitment to combating human rights and social injustices and has volunteered for the Tibetan community and charities both in the UK and India.

During her Biology degree, she gravitated towards modules in conservation and sustainability and worked in the Philippines carrying out marine surveys to help inform conservation management.

Whilst practising as a solicitor she specialised in legal aid and social welfare, family and clinical negligence, helping her vulnerable clients gain access to justice. With less than 10 years to meaningfully deliver the UN's SDGs for a more sustainable world, Caro's concern for global sustainability continued to grow. She joined On Purpose to move into the social enterprise sector and develop her career dedicated to tackling some of society's most pressing social and environmental challenges.
