Marie Williams
Marie has joined On Purpose following a career as a socioeconomics and social impact consultant, first at an environmental, then a socio-economics, consultancy. Her professional experience has covered a wide range of projects, the majority of which have required an anthropological focus, where obtaining views from harder-to-reach groups have been key. She has also worked in social research, again in London, and in documentary film in Paris. Marie is looking forward to broadening her experience and knowledge of identifying and scaling impact, hopefully in different national and cultural contexts, as well as joining a diverse community of people equally passionate about social and/or environmental justice. In her free time Marie volunteers as a mentor for social enterprise Luminary Bakery, which supports women experiencing gender-based violence into the hospitality industry, as well as at a food bank and lunch service at St. Judes & St. Paul's church in Islington. She studied Theatre and French at Bristol and has a Masters in Anthropology and Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
