On-Purpose

Nikola Duncanova

My career began as a Management Consultant where I primarily worked with Telecommunications and Media clients to deliver high-profile, large-scale technology and business transformation programmes. As a certified Scrum Master, I coached interdisciplinary teams on successfully implementing Agile project management methodologies.

Alongside my consulting work, however, my personal concern for climate and social issues was growing and I made the decision to dedicate myself wholeheartedly to the cause. This prompted me to complete an MSc in Global Sustainability Solutions at the University of Exeter, a course that delved deep into principles of systems thinking and its applications to topics ranging from climate change science and policymaking, to environmental justice.

Following my Master's, I worked for a local, community-focused cycling charity advocating for accessible, inclusive, and sustainable travel in the borough and beyond. I discovered On Purpose whilst looking for ways to grow my impact even further and to meet like-minded people and organisations, committed to doing the same.

Outside of work I like to spend my time volunteering at my local community garden, meeting up with friends, and going on long hikes and bike rides.
