Janet Larsen
As a coach, Janet leverages a valuable combination of 30 years experience in business and as a psychologist to bring pragmatic realism, business acumen, and psychological depth to her work.
Coaching since 1998, either full time or as part of her operational roles, Janet's clients span financial, legal and public sectors, consumer goods and social enterprise. Her director level experience in small business and advising large companies such as Britvic, Liverpool Victoria, Boston Consulting Group and St James's Place means Janet understands the demands of growing small businesses and sustaining large ones. She has lead change initiatives and structural reorganisation, participated in high-stakes, complex negotiations with multiple parties in a highly regulated environment, influenced multi-billion-pound investment decisions, guided business strategy, designed and implemented HR strategy, advised on group decision-making, risk management and conflict resolution.
Having worked with hundreds of asset managers globally, Janet understands the challenges of making decisions of conviction in circumstances of uncertainty, reconciling conflicting pressures from various stakeholders, shaping and leveraging winning teams and communicating with clients at the best and the worst of times. Janet draws nimbly on psychological, behavioural and brain science to help her clients expand into their potential. With a bottom-line focus on their effectiveness and performance, her style can be deeply empathic but also challenging. She has a knack for asking penetrating questions, taking people into territory not previously considered.
Janet trained as a psychologist at Stanford, Oxford and Copenhagen universities doing academic research and clinical work in a variety of settings and is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society. She trained as a mediator with CEDR. She qualified as a coach with Meyler Campbell and is certified by WABC.
