“Maya's blend of lateral thinking and ability to make things happen was critical to our success.”
Anne-Marie Canning, Head of Widening Participation Department, King's College London
King's College London
In this placement, Associates will be working as part of the widening participation team at King’s College London. The department is committed to finding the brightest minds regardless of their background and supporting them in accessing higher education. Our activities are targeted at state school students, students from less advantaged socio-economic background students from low-participation neighbourhoods, mature learners, black and minority ethnic students, disabled students and care leavers. At King’s we believe a diverse study body enriches the education that we offer.
Associates will design and work on a ground-breaking new project which will aim to encourage students from a BME background to consider university and support students from other vulnerable backgrounds including asylum seekers and students in Local Authority care. This project will involve both commercial and social elements.
