Roshni Shah

Roshni worked as a clothing buyer in the fashion industry for over ten years but she was motivated to join On Purpose in order to further her commitment to the social sector. In her last company she grew and developed the Womenswear department before diversifying into other areas. She had complete control of projects from concept stage to product development. She is experienced in influencing, negotiation and business development. Roshni showcased her entrepreneurial side by starting and growing her food business, 8 Plates (running supper clubs and catering private events) alongside her full-time job. Her passion for the social sphere was first ignited with voluntary experience in Costa Rica. She pursued this back in the UK, joining Foodcycle as a Project Leader in 2014. She helped set up the Finsbury Park branch and has been involved in all aspects of running a successful project such as volunteer management, fundraising, venue relationships and event planning. In her voluntary capacity with Foodcycle, what Roshni loves most is seeing the immediate and long term impact their work has on the community. She holds a BA in English from the University of Leeds.
