Fellow Spotlight: Faustine Delasalle
We're constantly inspired by the remarkable ways the On purpose community creates impact and brings about transformative change. This month we're excited to shine a light on Faustine Delasalle from our April 2015 cohort, who has been leading in the decarbonisation space since completing the programme.
Little did I know when I moved to London to join the On Purpose April 2015 cohort that it would open the doors to a career I couldn’t have dreamt of, fighting climate change alongside incredible global leaders.
My first On Purpose placement was at Winnow Solutions, a start-up fighting food waste in the catering industry that has continued to flourish since then. It’s the CEO of Winnow who introduced me to the co-founder of Systemiq, just a few months after this unique systems-change firm was created.
I spent more than seven years at Systemiq, growing with the company, from junior associate all the way to partner in charge of our energy transition portfolio. I’ve worked with major corporates, government representatives, and leading NGOs on how to cut greenhouse gas emissions faster. I had the chance to build the Energy Transitions Commission from the ground up, a global coalition of now 50+ organisations, which was one of the trailblazers showing that achieving zero emissions from energy was feasible by mid-century.
We then span out the Mission Possible Partnership (MPP) to focus exclusively on decarbonising heavy industry and heavy-duty transport. And I’ve had the honour to be appointed CEO of MPP a few weeks back, just in time to be on stage at COP28 to announce a partnership with the UNFCCC to help unlock deep decarbonisation projects.
Fundamentally, I owe this incredible journey to On Purpose’s network and to the curiosity, confidence, and resilience that On Purpose nurtured in me.
