Introduction
On Purpose takes data protection, privacy and the security of your personal data seriously.
This privacy notice describes the type of personal data we may collect about you, what we do with it and how we keep it safe. It reflects our internal data protection policy, a copy of which can be provided on request.

On Purpose Careers Ltd is a controlling member of On Purpose France (Association No. W751226802) and wholly owns On Purpose Berlin Careers GmbH (HRB 185485 B).
This privacy notice applies equally to all three businesses, collectively referred to throughout as “On Purpose,” “we” or “us.”
The legal bases we rely on to collect and process data
The law on data protection sets out a number of different reasons for which an organisation can collect and process your personal data. The following reasons apply to On Purpose:
Legitimate interest, including commercial interest or broader societal benefit, where we use your data in ways you would reasonably expect, and which have a minimal privacy impact;
Contractual obligation, where we use your data to take steps to enter and/or to fulfil a contract with you;
Consent, where we require your explicit permission to allow us to contact you.
Why we collect your personal data and how we use it
On Purpose needs to gather and use certain information about individuals to support its activities.
The main activities that utilise the data collected are:
Recruitment and selection for our programmes;
Programme delivery;
Community activity, e.g. events, communications, etc. to our network of alumni, organisations, trainers, coaches, mentors and other programme supporters; and
General marketing and communications.
The data we collect
We collect and process personal data including:
Name, job title and organisation;
Contact information, e.g. email address, phone number, physical address;
Data related to our programme selection process, e.g. CV, references, interview and assessment data, visa data;
Bank details, payroll, tax data and other information relevant to our finance and HR functions; and
For our programme participants, additional data relating to their work during the course of the programme and other personal data required to deliver elements of the programme.
At times, the nature of our programmes and associated activities means that we may also collect sensitive personal data on our programme participants, eg. data relating to physical or mental health.
When do we collect your personal data?
We collect your personal data in the following key ways:
When you register interest for one of our programmes;
When you apply for one of our programmes;
When you are onboarded onto one of our programmes;
As we develop our programmes, e.g. approaching potential placement hosts, programme participants, potential trainers, etc.;
When entering into a contract or agreement to support the delivery of one of our programmes; and
When you sign up on our website to receive our newsletter.
How we protect your personal data
The security of your data is extremely important so we work with an IT systems and support provider to implement safeguards designed to protect your data.
If your personal data is on printed material, we ensure that it is stored in a lockable filing cabinet.
How long will we keep your personal data?
We only keep your data for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
Who do we share your personal data with?
We sometimes need to share your data with a limited and authorised list of trusted suppliers, third parties and applications to support the development and delivery of our aims and activities.
We have contracts and agreements in place with these third parties to ensure that your data is kept safe and used appropriately, in line with data protection law and regulations.
What are your rights over your personal data?
You have the following rights in respect of our processing of your personal data:
To access the personal data we hold about you;
To request the correction of your personal data when incorrect, out of date or incomplete;
To request the deletion, erasure or removal of your personal data;
To request that processing of your personal data be blocked;
To withdraw consent for our direct marketing activity (e.g. newsletters). Simply ‘unsubscribe’ from an email message or get in touch with us (details below) and we will not contact you again;
To move, copy or transfer personal data easily from one IT environment to another in a safe and secure way; and
To object to the processing of your data.
