Maria Giraldo

Before joining On Purpose, Maria Isabel was a lawyer with complementary studies in humanities, who transitioned into the social sector and spent five years working with NGOs in Colombia. Her key contributions include leading a socio-economic inclusion initiative for Venezuelan migrants at AidLive Foundation, directing policy advocacy for social entrepreneurship at Recon Foundation, and managing consultancy projects on rural education, development, and agri-technology at Ecosistema Jaguar. Maria Isabel is passionate about topics related to the public and social sectors, particularly community empowerment, peace-building, and sustainability. She thrives on building bridges between sectors, organizations, and people. She holds a postgraduate degree in social responsibility and sustainability from Los Andes University (Bogotá, Colombia) and an MSc in International, Social & Public Policy from the London School of Economics. Outside of work, Maria Isabel co-hosts a Spanish-language podcast called De Dos en Dos, where she discusses purpose and human connection. She also enjoys hiking, singing, and reading.
